IRFA is committed to maintaining Iowa’s leadership in renewable fuels and value-added co-products production. Number one in the nation for biofuels production, Iowa has 42 ethanol plants capable of producing 4.5 billion gallons annually, including 34 million gallons of annual cellulosic ethanol production capacity. In addition, Iowa has 11 biodiesel plants with the capacity to produce 410 million gallons annually.
