London-based Heathrow Airport on Jan. 10 announced it targeting 5% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) use in 2025. To support that goal, the airport is offering £86 million ($105.27 million) to airlines under its pioneering SAF incentive scheme.
SK Energy has successfully exported sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Europe, marking a first for a Korean refiner. This milestone comes just four months after the company commenced commercial production, completing a global value chain for SAF.
Moeve and easyJet have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the decarbonization of air transport by promoting SAF. The agreement gives easyJet access to SAF for six years on the airline’s route network in Spain.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory, with support from the U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), recently released the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Blending and Logistics report.
Air New Zealand on Dec. 18 announced its largest purchase of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to date, securing more than 30 million liters from Neste to be uplifted from Los Angeles and San Francisco through to February 2026.
