The Pennsylvania Hardwoods Development Council is a public-private partnership established by the Commonwealth to strengthen and promote Pennsylvania’s forest and wood products industry. The Council brings together leaders from government, forestry, manufacturing, education, and conservation to advance market development, workforce training, forest stewardship, and innovation across the hardwood supply chain. Pennsylvania is home to more than 16 million acres of forestland and is the nation’s leading producer of hardwood lumber, making the Council an important advocate for sustainable forest management and emerging opportunities that utilize low-value wood resources, including bioenergy and sustainable aviation fuel feedstocks.
