Aemetis Inc. released second quarter results, reporting increase revenue when compared to the first quarter of the year. During an earnings call, company officials detailed progress with the company’s dairy renewable natural gas (RNG), ethanol, biodiesel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) projects.&nbsp;Todd Waltz, chief financial officer at Aemetis, said the company’s ethanol plant in Keyes, California, operated at a slightly reduced rate of 13.8 million gallons during the quarter to maximize margins.&nbsp;Aemetis Executive Chairman and CEO Eric McAfee said progress is being made on the mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) project underway at the Keyes plant. Key vendors are fabricating equipment for the system, he said, noting the MVR project is expected to reduce the plant’s natural gas use by 80%. The system is expected to be fully operational next year.&nbsp;McAfee also noted that ethanol pricing has improved since earlier this year. He cited the U.S. EPA’s emergency waivers for E15 and lower corn prices as factors that have improved margins. While Aemetis decreased ethanol production during the spring to optimize margins, McAfee said the company has recently increased production to support market demand and participate in the higher-margin environment.&nbsp;According to Waltz, Aemetis’s dairy RNG operations recognized $3.1 million of revenue from 11 operating digesters during the second quarter, using the California Air Resources Board-approved Low Carbon Fuel Standard pathway for seven of the digesters.&nbsp;McAfee said the RNG business is steadily scaling up, with a new multi-dairy digester coming online this month that is expected to boost RNG production by 30%. He said the company plans to reach 550,000 MMBtus of RNG production capacity this year, increasing to 1 million MMBtu by the end of next year.&nbsp;Regarding Aemetis’ Riverbank project, a proposed 90 MMgy SAF and renewable diesel facility, McAfee confirmed the company has received the authority to construct air permits and conditional use permit for the project. He said the company is in active discussions on financing structure and is waiting further clarity on the 45Z clean fuel production credit and Renewable Fuels Standard mandates to support project financing.&nbsp;Aemetis is also planning to develop a CCS project at the site of the Riverbank facility. McAfee said initial site work is complete on a geologic characterization well. Data obtained from the next phase will support the company’s Class VI permit application with the U.S. EPA. Once permitting, the site is expected to have the capacity to sequester up to 1.4 million metric tons of CO2 annually.&nbsp;Aemetis also has an India-based biodiesel business. That subsidiary is targeting a public listing in early 2026.Aemetis reported second quarter revenues of $52.2 million, down from $66.6 million reported for the same period of last year. The dairy RNG segment produced 106,400 MMBtu and reported $3.1 million in revenue. The India biodiesel business recognized $11.9 million in revenue.&nbsp;Gross loss for the second quarter was $3.4 million, compared to a $1.8 million gross loss reported for the same period of 2024. Operating loss was $10.7 million, compared to an operating loss of $13.6 million. Net loss was $23.4 million, compared to a net loss of $29.2 million.&nbsp;
