Azure 2023 Inc. on Dec. 20 announced plans to develop an SAF production facility in Cherryvale, Kansas. The company plans to make a final investment decision on the 135 MMgy in 2025 and begin production in 2027.
Thai Airways operated its first flight using Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel on Dec. 13. A Thai Airways Boeing 777 was refueled with blended SAF at Phuket Airport in Thailand for the return flight to Bangkok International Airport.
DL E&C signs technical cooperation agreement for SAF with KBR

DL E&C Co. Ltd announced on Dec. 13, that it had signed a feasibility study contract with Kellogg Brown & Root for its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production business using KBR’s ATJ (alcohol to jet) technology, PureSAF.
Pratt & Whitney Canada and Leonardo on Dec. 7 announced the successful completion of the first flight for an AW139 helicopter powered by the PT6C-67C engine using 100 percent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Total U.S. operable biofuels production capacity fell slightly in September, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on Nov. 30. Feedstock consumption was down slightly from August, but up significantly from September 2022.
